What Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing contributes to Cardinal Health The Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing team is responsible for managing supplier relations at a tactical level by executing and expediting purchase orders. Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing ensures the right quantity of products arrive in the right place, at the right time and cost. Assists in negotiating product and supply chain costs. Utilize terms and conditions of supplier contracts, work with internal customers to improve processes, and evaluate supplier performance that ultimately improves the supply chain. * Demonstrates decision making skills to make optimal purchasing decisions based on supplier and customer contracts, situational information, and all other available data for assigned product lines at the optimum cost. * Utilizes influencing, communication, and collaborative skills to partner with all internal customers (i.e. Sourcing, Finance, Operations, Sales, etc.) and external Supplier Partners to ensure timely delivery of products to assigned distribution centers and the efficiency of our Supply Chain. * Possesses technical skills around our purchasing systems (SCORE and SAP), Expediting system (EAI web-based tool), reporting tools (Tableau, Business Objects, and MS Access/Excel). * Final decision makers for forecast and inventory related decisions for their assigned supplier portfolio. * Understands and meets goals for Service Level, Days of Inventory on hand, purchase order expediting, and others as established by the management team. * Runs and analyzes data from multiple data sources to understand the root cause of a problem or low metric and to have quality discussions with supplier partners. * Develops long term relationships with supplier partners to continually push to improve purchasing processes. Accountabilities * Perform tasks as assigned by supervisor and/or group leader. * Communicate effectively and foster a positive working relationship with all cross functional groups. * Cross train in any and/or all areas as assigned by the department supervisor and/or group leader * Maintain a clean and orderly work area * Adhere to plant policies/procedures, department EHS rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), ISO 13485 regulations and Good Housekeeping procedures. * Shall operate in a manner that protects the health and safety of its employees/visitors and operate in a manner that conserves energy, natural resources and protects the environment. * Complete all pertinent paperwork pertaining to the finished product being produced according to established guidelines in the manufacturing procedures. * Responsible for the observation of department regulations and to use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required; must be safety conscious. * Advanced knowledge of Sterilization operations. * Assign and schedule tasks for themselves and Sterilization Material Handler. * Must successfully complete Radiation Safety Training for licensing by the State of Florida. * Must provide finger printing and pass background checks for RSO licensing * Must meet all requirements specific to operating motorized equipment (PIT, motorized pallet jacks, or other equipment as required.) * Ability to work 12-hour crew schedule. * Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation Qualifications * High School Diploma or GED preferred * One-year certificate from college or technical school (machinist, engineering technology) preferred, or equivalent combination of training and experience * 2-4 years medical device manufacturing related experience preferred or equivalent combination of training and experience * Forklift certification preferred What is expected of you and others at this level * Acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete standard tasks * Works on basic and routine assignments * Selects correct processes from prescribed rules or guidelines * Work is closely managed and follows detailed instructions * Seeks regular guidance and advice from supervisor Cardinal Health is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
