JOB SUMMARY: The Emergency Evaluation (BA) Primarily provides assessments and intervention services for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises and/or seeking substance abuse detoxification services.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES: The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification with or without an accommodation. Knowledge of legal and ethical issues in the treatment of psychiatric patients. Must have a working knowledge of all laws pertaining to the voluntary and involuntary treatment of individuals deemed to be in danger of harming themselves or others by virtue of their behavior, mental illness or drug and/or alcohol use/abuse as specified in the Baker and Marchman Acts. Excellent interviewing and crisis intervention skills are essential to this position. Good communication skills are vital. Computer knowledge is vital to the satisfactory performance of this position.PERSONAL QUALITIES: Requires excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively and efficiently with individuals from multiple disciplines. Must be able to cooperate with co-workers and others in the community in such a manner, which is conducive to the well being of individuals and insures proper maintenance of continuity of care and confidentiality. Displays at all times courteous and respectful behavior towards individuals, families, law enforcement and other professionals. Ability to withstand high levels of stress. Ability to work at a fast pace under high degree of pressure from time and space constraints. Comfortable working with individuals who can become verbally and physically aggressive individuals. Must be able to utilize critical and analytical thinkingJUDGMENT/DECISION MAKING: Utilizes established corporate policies and procedures in making decisions. Uses sound judgment in meeting the responsibilities and performing the duties of the position.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Education: Bachelor's degree in human services or related field requiredExperience: A minimum of 2 year behavioral healthcare experience requiredTRAINING & DEVELOPMENT: Completes all requirements according to Individual Training Plan within the first six months of hire and annually.
