Job Description:

Zurich is currently looking for a Staff Legal Assistant to work out of our North American offices in Orlando, Florida. The Staff Legal Assistant performs a broad range of administrative and secretarial support for three busy trial attorneys. The Legal Assistant will organize and maintain all electronic files relating to litigation and administrative matters. The Legal Assistant will be primarily responsible for scheduling and maintaining the calendars of the attorneys they support. Additional responsibilities will include: Providing administrative support to one or more attorneys such as answering the phone, greeting visitors, scheduling and maintaining calendars, processing invoices, retaining vendors, filing, electronic filing, service of pleadings, etc... Responding to inquiries from and interacts with customers, clients, counsel, and witnesses Drafting legal pleadings, correspondence, and other documents as directed Maintaining accurate office database for assigned attorneys' cases Organizing and maintaining case files and documentation Contributing to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in the Legal Secretary area within the Insurance industry OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 1 or more years of experience in the Legal Secretary area within the Insurance industry AND Experience drafting legal documents and correspondence Experience providing administrative support to one or more attorneys Experiencing filing with the Florida Courts E-filing system Familiarity with Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and local Rules Experience navigating Clerk, Court and Judicial websites Strong Organization and prioritization skills Detail oriented Preferred Qualifications:(Internal / External Posting Do Not Include Bullets) Associate Degree or Bachelors Degree Ability to effectively draft legal documents, correspondence, and/or pleadings Strong Microsoft Office skills Familiarity with litigation management software systems Trial experience Strong technical skills Imagine working for a company that truly cares about their employees, customers, stakeholders, and communities they serve.
