Outriggers Tiki Bar and Grille in New Smyrna Beach, Florida is a 230-seat waterfront dining establishment currently searching for an experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic team.Responsibilities Include* Directing food preparation and recipe development in collaboration with the Executive Chef.* Helping in the design, creation and the contribution of signature items for our Florida Costal Cuisine seafood inspired menus.* Assisting with daily menu planning, exceptional presentation and execution.* Management of inventory levels, sourcing the best local ingredients and provisions needed to run a smooth and efficient kitchen line.* Supporting the Executive Chef in training and leading a high-performance team.* Our "Family Rules" provide an atmosphere for growth and a work life balance unlike any other in the industry, we are a high volume and growing restaurant focused on an exceptional guest experience.* Will consider relocation assistance.Qualifications Include* Exceptional cooking skills, knowledge of cooking methodology, exceptional plate presentation and servesafe procedures.* Ability to effectively manage the kitchen staff of at least 12-15 crew, motivate them and assign duties fairly.* A genuine passion to create, plan and design daily menu items.* Ability to skillfully multi-task, give direction and provide mentorship to the team.* Comfortable with supporting a 230-seat restaurant.* The ability to stay focused in a busy situation.Employment Type: Full TimeYears Experience: 5 - 10 yearsSalary: $45,000 - $55,000 AnnualBonus/Commission: Yes
