AmericaThe Manager, Quality (Lab) is responsible for oversight of
multiple functions within quality, which includes supervision of
Quality Assurance teammates and of processes related to the Quality
Assurance department. This position reports to the Director,
Quality (Lab). Essential Duties & Responsibilities:1. Review,
define, and improve the Quality Management System Policies,
Procedures, and Processes while ensuring adherence to standards and
regulations put in place by CLIA, CMS, CAP, and other state and
local regulatory agencies
- Liaison to ensure medical directors' engagement on items
potentially affecting clinical quality based on knowledge of
regulations and operations
- Inform medial directors of new and existing regulatory
requirements and ensure fulfillments of those requirements
- Evaluate potential and existing vendors for compliance with
applicable regulatory standards2. Strategize, develop, and execute
continuous improvement projects related to policies and processes
impacting quality and affecting operations as well as develop
educational programs to provide continuous updates to teammates in
order to maintain compliance with standards and regulations 3.
Provide leadership to direct reports, including:
- Managing teammate activities including hiring, promoting, and
performance evaluations
- Organize and supervise teammates to ensure work direction and
staffing
- Monitor workflow and delegate responsibilities
- Maintain appropriate teammate records4. Plan, organize, and
provide oversight for internal and external audits5. Identify,
monitor improve Quality Assurance analytics/metrics and drive
continuous improvement of document management, training, and
auditing to achieve operational excellence6. Other duties as
assigned.Education & Experience:
- 6+ years of related experience
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in life sciences, clinical
laboratory science, or related discipline
- Minimum of six (6) years supervisory, and information/quality
management systems experience.
- Experience in healthcare, and especially clinical laboratory
setting strongly preferred.
- Post graduate experience in Lean Six Sigma, Process Improvement
OR technical problem solving
- 12 years' experience of CMS, CLIA and/or FDA GCP/GLP,
regulations and guidance
- Demonstrated experience with regulatory authorities and
external customers
- Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel,
Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project and Visio
- Lean Six Sigma, Quality Auditor, Root Cause Analysis
