Job description Operational and clinical pharmacist
responsibilities within a rapidly growing in-practice oncology
specialty pharmacy. Comprehensive oversight of workflows and
audits, staff supervision in all areas of access, fulfillment and
accounts receivables, education counseling, medication adherence
and therapy management in collaboration with the extended health
care team. Participation quality assurance programs including
execution of ongoing quality improvement initiatives. Oversee
pharmacy benefits, and specialty medication's management, PA
approvals. Management of all activities and staff performance in
accordance with policies and procedures for all pharmacy functions
including but not limited to prior authorization, co-pay assistance
and prescription fulfillment at other specialty pharmacies for all
patients under the care of medical practice. Verify accuracy and
completeness, and appropriateness of written prescription or refill
requests. Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs
in accordance with state and federal requirements. Provide direct
oversight to ensure safe handling, appropriate personal protection
equipment, as needed, and proper adherence to policies in
sanitizing workspace during preparation/ dispensing of medications
including hazardous medications. Assess patient profiles for active
medications, drug allergies and diagnosis codes to customize
medication counseling on drug indications, dosages, directions,
side effects, storage/handling, missed dose, and interactions. QA
checks on transcribed medication orders. Ability to interpret
medical literature for purposes of creation of prior authorization
appeals Collaborate with management in audits and quality assurance
programs. Engage in active supervision of staff, refinement and
audit of workflows and processes in accordance with regulatory,
accreditation and best practices. Evaluation, training, and
assessment of Pharmacy Technician performance, based on policies of
the practice. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Adept to continual
learning and development and collaboration with others in training
and refining processes within the rapidly growing field of oral
therapies in oncology and hematology Strong communication skills
for patient education, staff mentoring and incorporation of
pharmaceutical care with the extended health care team Ability to
work independently and within a team Ability to change between
tasks with accuracy and proficiency Knowledge and compliance of
FDOH statutes and laws Qualifications & Requirements: --- BS in
Pharmacy or Pharm D degree Current unrestricted clinical license
(s) Minimum 3 years retail pharmacy experience Experience in
benefit's management, and specialty pharmacy desirable Job Type:
