Position ObjectiveDemonstrates an extensive knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering principles, concepts, practices and theories. This position requires the candidate to take on the responsibilities of a lead electrical engineer.Responsibilities include; own the electrical architecture, collaborate with cross functional leads and provide technical guidance and direction for the electrical development. The individual will also interface with internal and external customers. This position also requires the candidate to be an individual contributor to the team. Responsibilities may include research, design, development and test of complex electrical engineering designs and concepts.This is a temporary position scheduled to last between 6-12 months.This position utilizes a 9/80 schedule - every other Friday is off!Primary ResponsibilitiesIndividual ContributorDesign, model, simulate and test complex electronic circuits, subsystems and systemsConduct trade studies to determine optimal solution to requirementsSupport designs with analysis, simulations and calculationsGenerate design documents (Models, SPICE, Schematics, etc.)Create schematic drawings and support PCB design, layout and routing of sub-assemblies and systemsPrepare documentation for work as required for engineering.Lead Electrical EngineerDesign and own the electrical architecture of the assigned systemCollaborate with other functional leads (Software, Mechanical, Systems, Etc)Provide technical guidance to electrical engineers assigned to the projectConduct complex in-house tests, direct and guides or mentors other EngineersApply Risk, failure and root cause analysis as required within the electronic engineering disciplineKeep accurate and complete records of engineering activitiesOrganizing, execution, and coordinating technical assignmentsProvide direction to other engineers, technicians or manufacturing operatorsProvide input to bid and proposal activitiesProvide communications and/or presentations to customers, suppliers or vendorsRequired Education and Experience4-year degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering or related field OR a combination of education and relevant experienceA minimum of 15 years of Electrical Engineering experienceA minimum of 5 years of experience with simulation (LTSpice or equivalent) and computational programs (MatLab preferred)Proven experience in generating electrical design documentation, and technical reportsRequired QualificationsMust have applied hands-on implementation expertise in electronic design, simulation, modeling, analysis, and test of electronic assemblies and systemsThorough knowledge of digital and analog design including amplifiers, analog and digital interfacing, time-domain filtering, programmable logic, low power design, communication protocols, and memory devices (EEPROM, SRAM, DRAM)Experience with battery operation, digital signal processing, magnetic and RF design.Ability to draw solutions from both formal training and experience and use original thinking and ingenuity to solve problemsAbility to write proposals, cost and schedule estimates (including budgets), and participate in presentationsProficiency in using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)Must show high initiative, be self-motivated, and have the ability to act independently on technical matters.Ability to travel and participate in field testsPreferred QualificationsExtensive experience with system architecture designExperience simulating, designing, building and testing class D audio amplifiersExperience simulating, designing, building and testing broad band impedance matching networksExperience in power supply design or working knowledge of power supply design theoryExperience working with or interfacing with acoustic transducers is a plusTravel Requirement15%PM201 - PagePI154084628
