Job Description:

In the spirit of "Making People's Dreams Come True", this position applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties personally. This position is also responsible for delivering Raving Fans customer service to both internal and external customers.Responsibilities:Ensure the integrity of accounting information and maintain general ledger by recording, verifying, and entering transactions in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounted Principles (GAAP)Prepare analysis and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts. Resolve accounting discrepancies, irregularities and issues of non-compliance; alert Assistant Controller, as necessaryEnsure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closeEnsure all reporting deadlines are metPrepare documentation for external auditors and assist with coordination of auditsAnalyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and proceduresSupport and assist with budget and forecast activities, as necessarySupport and assist with accounting/finance-related systems implementations and upgradesProtects organizations by maintaining confidentiality of all financial informationCollaborate closely with Accounting Leadership in a timely mannerSupport and assist with any assignment, as requestedContribute to the development of new or amended accounting processes and procedures to enhance process efficienciesDrive best practices and continuous improvementKey Competencies:Highly skilled with experience across several areas of the accounting professionStrong analytical skills and the ability to apply problem solving techniquesAbility to assess control risk and effectiveness in accounting processesDetail oriented with excellent organizational, documentation, and time management skillsExperience with compliance and regulationsIn-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Strong communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to work with little supervisionEducation/Experience Requirements:Bachelor's degree in AccountingFive (5+) years related experienceProficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentagesAbility to apply concepts of basic algebraAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizationMaintain organized and professional work areaAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies, and proceduresBenefits for Full-Time eligible positions:Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Basic Life & AD&D Voluntary Life Insurance HSA/FSA & 401k PTO & Paid Holidays The Villages Charter School eligibility and much more!
